Hehe, Trk I'm a gas guy. Sparks frighten me and battery acid destroyed my favorite pair of cut off jean shorts

One of the sparky guys will be along shortly

the moving arm will run you roughly $10 (you MAY not need to replace it but most likely will)
The moving Contact runs ~$20
The Stationary contacts run ~$8 each x 5 = ~$40
you will also have to replace the small wire in there and some small hardware available at any Ace or TrueValue store.

Personally I would do as Scotty suggested and upgrade to a solid state controller because it will happen again with that upgraded motor in the cart.......

Thanks! I'll check into both options. It is good to get a straight answer from someone.

Im pulling my motor(hopefully) in a few min to send it off to Plum Quick for the bandit rebuild, Im wondering if mine will run hot I have the same set as mentioned before. I wondering if I put a fan under there and run it off another battery in the trunk would that help decipate the heat quicker. Also whats the cost of the componets to make it a solid state? That would be just the basics. The reason for the concern is my daughter will be doing some of the driveing and driveing slower once the motor gets installed I already have four gauge wires and a new battery pack. My cart doesnt have a cover over the wiper board. Mine motor has been making strange noises and has run hot enough to make the dash light come on, so its time. This is a 87 Sun Classsic 36v. I hope I havent jacked this thread but this was a good thread subject to get some input on. Thanks V
