Re: HD cart Plastic gas tank specs?
They are still available. some lawn mowers use them. They are a little pricey so I just look in the tank with a Harbor Freight LED light.

Re: HD cart Plastic gas tank specs?
My 82 still has that cap but it takes like 3 gallons to get it to start to move so its not very accurate.

Re: HD cart Plastic gas tank specs?
I was having a hard time finding the hardware for the tank. But I found a snowmobile company called "New Breed Snowmobile Parts" that had the fuel adapter and grommet. I should be pretty close to original specs by the time I'm done.

Re: HD cart Plastic gas tank specs?
There is a place called Water Sports or Dennis Kirk (I think) that has the check valve. their part number 1827. also carb gasket kits for HR/HL carbs, Part number 1702. They may have the elbow and grommet for the tank.

Re: HD cart Plastic gas tank specs?
If the rear cart section will go upward without hitting the filler neck it should be a great installation. With the filler cover on the back of the cart open there is enough room to remove the filler cap and fill the tank if a short length of hose is placed on the outlet of most gas cans.

Re: HD cart Plastic gas tank specs?
The gas tank I purchased I mentioned in previous posts fits great. I will try to get some pictures up soon. Here is the link for the tank. The cost for the tank and cap was about $100.00. Rest of the hardware was about $20.00. This is a much better option than buying a used tank for more money. Here is the link again.

Re: HD cart Plastic gas tank specs?
Adding the actual link to buy the tanks. The PDF was awesome, but a link to the actual page was a must have. Black = https://www.usplastic.com/catalog/it...?itemid=104097 and clear = https://www.usplastic.com/catalog/it...d=104096:wink:
