That piston is pretty beat up. Especially for the amount of wear and carbon buildup on it.

I’d definitely not take this one on alone. That’s a fresh piston and bore job it looks like and I’m gonna say it wasn’t done right. You’ll need someone with a machine shop to properly measure the bore and set up the correct sized piston. That’s a lot of wear to the piston and bearings for everything being that clean and fresh looking.

If you can’t find a good used running engine, I’d get ahold of plowmans. Either that or as much as I hate to say it, consider a 420 swap. You e still got some $$$ you can recoup selling the ignitor, coil, air box, clutch, etc in there to offset the cost. Could honestly put that engine back together and sell as a rebuildable core. The head, crank, and other parts are still good. And it is fixable I’d just have to weigh the cost differences.

Yea I found a guy in Michigan that has a used motor that he has, might wait till he sends some info and pics of it and kinda would like to stick with a stock motor..

Called don today and he can’t bore out the motor till another 8months :( anyone have a motor out there that they done a big block swap ?
