Thanks for taking the time to take and post the video.

Here is mine. I removed the belt to rule that or the rear end out.

So how is your engine mounted? You said your motor has mount bushings. Does your cart have bushings between the engine cradle and the bottom of the block? I posted a picture of our cart in post #9, which uses no engine mount bushings.

That shaking is definitely not normal. Ours is super smooth.

The engine bolts directly to the engine mount plate. The mounting plate, through 8 rubber bushings and 4 bolts, mounts to the cradle.

I removed the rubber bushings so the plate direct mounted to the cradle and it definitely made things worse.

Did the cart run good at one time and this problem just started? Or is this a cart you guys bought and it already had the issue?

It is a new engine in an old cart. I bought the cart at the start of the summer as a project for my kids and I. As usual it took way longer than I expected but we finally got it all together.

I told my son I would call the vendor we bought the engine from to see if he had any ideas what might be going on, but he couldn't wait for my work schedule to change to where I could call during the day and started this thread.

Most of my gas powered engine experience is with 2 stroke dirt bike engines, so a vibrating engine is the norm for me. But I had a feeling that this engine should be smoother than it is.

I am not going to be able to find anything out until Monday. It is a bummer because this cart is fun to drive. It makes the electric cart feel slow and boring.

With stock tires, 8:1 gears and a machined driven clutch it will go 23-24 mph at 3000 rpm. I have some pretty steep hills around my neighborhood and it goes up those no problem.

What kind of carb is on it? I bought a couple eBay cheapo carbs a while back and one was fine but the other was kinda screwy and made the engine stumble bad when it was accelerating below about 3,000 rpm. It would pump black smoke out of the tail pipe when it did it. Cleaned the heck out of the original carb and put it back on and it ran smooth again.

Make sure both tabs are latched tightly on the air filter box. If these engines yet too much air, they do exactly as yours is doing. I've seen it a lot.

First off let me say thanks to everyones willingness to help me out here.

I checked the arbox and everything was nice and tight there. I pulled the airbox and air tube off and used my hand to cover the carb to provide varying degrees of restriction. The result was the same vibration.

I also installed an old Keihin carb just to rule that out and still had the same vibrations.

I even removed the movable part of the drive clutch to rule out an inbalance there but no luck.

I am thinking it has to be something with the engine.
