Default Re: How to know which hole to put yamaha umax spring tangs in

What I am thinking happened is.....When I was pressing the sheave in with the clamp it kinda wants to only press one side in. I'm thinking maybe the spring tang kinda popped out and was just barely hanging on and when I ran it in neutral in popped out, and lost the preload? Does that sound possible. I should prolly use a ratchet strap like you did next time instead of a bar clamp......I hope it didn't break the spring tang off.....don't know if that could happen or not....I'll find out tomorrow.

Seems crude with the strap, I as well, thought it wasn't a good way to accomplish the job, but it works pretty well! This is following Sprid's instruction, (old guy on here)!!Uh,oh! Gotta say it Block!! "Like Smallboock"!! Anyway, thats about the only way to get results, unless you have the special Yamaha tool like Block has!!
