Cart lunges/loses power
I have a 2011 EZ Go 48volt TXT. Bought it a couple years ago and put a lift on within the first couple months . Anyway, ever since I put the lift on the cart lunges/loses power when the battery starts to get low. It has been continually getting worse as time goes by.
We mainly use it at a camp ground where there are alot of hills and trails. That may be adding to the problem. What is causing this? Are my batteries junk or is there a cheaper fix? Thanks for your help!!! |

Re: Cart lunges/loses power
Lifts are typically done to accommodate taller tires and taller tires reduce the torque where rubber meets road, which may be a contributing factor, but your batteries are also going on 4 years, which is about the typical useable lifespan.

Re: Cart lunges/loses power
The batteries are the be original batteries.
That's kinda what I was thinking but didn't really want to shell out the cash. Is there anything that can be done to help with battery life while running a lift? Thanks for your help!!! |

Re: Cart lunges/loses power
The taller tire essentially increases the rear end gearing. This requires the motor to produce more power to turn the wheels, a situation we call torque loss. For 4 year old batteries this may be the final straw. You can try putting the old smaller tires on and see if the problem stops.
It sounds like battery time. |
