Alltrax controller is the way to go. 400 or 500 or 600 amp controller is what you want depending on what you want the cart to do. Now you have a series drive system, the larger tires are going to rob your torque but it will give you a little more speed, to get the torque back your going to need to go 48 volts, or a bigger motor

will it hurt anything to run the factory controller with a lift and big tires?

On a series drive system it will be ok. If your running the cart up hills you are going to loose MPH with the larger tires

im just going to be putting mostly im sure. I have two small kids that will want to ride. I really appreciate the help. think im going with jakes 6" drop axle, 23" tires and 14" night stalker wheels

If you contact ScottyB and tell him what you want the cart to do, he will walk you through what you need. here is a link to his web site he is a sponsor here at BGW. You are going to need a controller and a solenoid and some new battery cables. Put the lift and tires on and drive it and see how you like it, and then go from there
