Default Few dumb questions about voltage reducer install

I just got a reducer from Scotty, planning the install tomorrow.

It says I need to change some connectors on my wires in order to connect it to the reducer.

My question is, do I also need to provide additional +\- wires? Not everything needed is included, right?

You will need to provide wire and crimp connectors. The length of the wire needed will depend upon the selected location for the reducer and accessories.
You can pick these supplies up at any auto store or even walmart, HF, or a tractor supply store.

Yea believe I've got the connectors, but before I went and bought the wires in the morning I wanted to make sure. Gauge doesn't matter?

Gauge does matter (no matter what she says )
Take a look at your reducer and match up wire size for wire size for any extensions you need.
Bigger is okay but reducing the size of a wire can lead to resistance and heat.
Hope this helps

Good Call.

Remember that even though you're pulling low current, you are still putting 48VDC into the front side of the converter.

To make it simple on you in the future, hit the local parts store and pick up a cheap 4-6 port screw terminal bus bar. That way, if you want to add another 12V device in the future, like a Cigarette adapter or USB port for charging, you can just screw it into the terminals instead of trying to splice into the converter again.

Anywhere that sells auto parts usually has them in the electronics aisle.

Also, places like Fry's (RIP Radio Shack.).

Another alternative is to go to a car-audio place or even Wal-Marts car audio aisle, and pick up a "distribution block" which will be fused on each leg of the circuit.

That helps you centralize stuff and keep you from blowing up a pricey radio or something if you short out something by mistake.
