Default Marathon and TXT Chargers

Guys i am brand new to this forum and brand new to carts. I just purchased my first 2 carts. According to my model # search I have a 92 Marathon and a 99 TXT. I only got one charger in the deal and it fits the Marathon. The TXT is in better shape and is "supposed" to have good batteries but I can't charge them. Can I disconnect the charger connector from the 92 and wire it in to the 99 to get the batteries charged? Is there a pigtail type converter to go between the connectors? Is this a good idea? Please help a newbie out.
Thanks in advance

You can do this.
There is little difference if any between the carts in relation to charging. THe TXT has an ignition interrupter device in the receptacle which the old charger can not activate. So one you change the plug to charge be aware somebody could drive off with the charger plugged in - run the charge cord through the steering wheel before plugging into the cart to prevent accidents.

Awesome thanks scottyb. That is the red wire on the TXT correct?
I will give it a try later today.

Scotty,

Do you know if it's possible to run a momentary contact switch into this pigtail, to use a seat-interrupt switch ?

E.g. My riding mower has a seat mounted kill-switch so if you exit the seat while the blade deck is engaged, it kills the mower.

We have a neighbor with a 90lb labrador. Who gets scared of fireworks. Last 4th she climbed into the cart and onto the accelerator and **** near put it into the picnic table full of food and kids.

Would be nice to retrofit a seat mounted kill switch, that requires driver present, to operate.

Sorry for the thread-jack, but this charger question reminded me of this

Didn't work. I question if the charger is even working. The gauge on the front is not moving and I don't hear a hum or anything. How can i be sure the charger is working?
I actually wondered the same thing the eminence_front asked. Is it possible to do this?

Jump the relay in the charger. This will turn the charger on all the time but you will at least be able to see if it works

How many volts should be coming out of the charger if I check it with a volt meter?

Charger should be putting out something slightly above 36 V.

It would be easy to put a pressure sensitive momentary switch under the seat to interrupt the solenoid activation circuit. The seat would need to be mounted on springs to hold the switch opened when not in use.

To check the overall system simply connect a meter to the pack and plug in the charger. The pack voltage will almost immediately begin to rise if everything is connected and working properly.

I do this by turning the key switch on and watching at my in-dash volt meter
