Angry controller cooked?

Hello Folks, here's my crisis, 1996 ezgo txt series motor, new H/D forward-reverse, new 4 gauge wires. Last week lost forward completely still had reverse, when in forward cart only shuttered but would not move. Checked voltage on everything, all looked good. Had my npx4844ez controller unhooked to see if it would reset but now that I hooked it back up as soon as I touch accelerator enough to engage solenoid the fuse coming from back of charger plug in pops. Is my controller shorted? I have checked all wiring several times, ready to run in river!!!!!! Thanks in advance for any ideas, Chad.

Good call, small diode was fried, but cart still only shutters in forward, reverse seems fine. Could a bad solenoid cause this or is it more of a controller issue?

Same solenoid supplies power in F&R, so not a solenoid problem. Same controller passes amperage in F&R so I don't think it is a control problem in this cart... could you disconnect the 1/2 speed orange wire from the F&R micro switch to see if that helps.

Okay i'll try that, if that works what exactly does that point to as the faulty component?
