Suggestions on extended roof stabilization
Hello all,
I just picked up a 2009 Club Car Precedent that's lifted with the Phantom kit installed. It came with the extended roof and a rear fold down seat, I noticed on mine it has the "sweater basket" between the seats. It seems that with this the roof supports are mounted onto the rear seat and not on the bulky supports that I see on some carts. This causes the roof to shake and squeak terribly. I'm looking for options to secure the roof to eliminate the shaking and squeaking. I'll try to get some pictures posted later today to show what I'm trying to explain. |

Put a windshield across the front and that will help with the rocking. Those long supports coming up from the front cowling is where most of the play comes from.

^^^Agreed. Those rear struts are probably as stabile, if not more so, than the backrest mounted ones would be.

I would also add some sort of "grommet" at the roof level...

What I have done in the past on my carts and others, like what others have said windshield will help the racking, I also installed plastic washers you can get from Lowes in the hardware department, make sure that All bolts are tight even the rear seat brackets. On ruff roads or trails you will get some noise but not nearly as bad. It looks like you have the right supports for the top and rear seat.

Thanks everyone.
I wanted to add a windshield next so this will help in convincing the wife we need one. |

I used the weather stripping foam that has and adhesive back to make a makeshift washer / shock at the roof support upper connections.

I got rubber washers from Loews and placed them on ever bolt where there was metal on metal for the roof and supports. Worked perfectly.
