Re: E.R.I.C. Charger on older carts
I have to admit, I am not sure why you aren't getting longer run times either.
Your voltages look pretty good to me. Hopefully the Pro's will jump in and educate us all. Aflyer |

Re: E.R.I.C. Charger on older carts
Does your cart have any upgrades?
High speed Motor? Big Controller? Big tires? Have you tried jacking it up to see if the wheels spin freely? Brakes dragging? Bad wheel bearing? Basically anything that could make the cart consume more energy. |

Re: E.R.I.C. Charger on older carts
Does your cart have any upgrades? Just a radio, but I have a 12v reducer and still get the same drain with it powered off.
High speed Motor? No, but I do have the speed code hack Big Controller? Stock Big tires? Stock Have you tried jacking it up to see if the wheels spin freely? No, I will try that next. Brakes dragging? No Bad wheel bearing? No The cart does have the regen braking though. Basically anything that could make the cart consume more energy. |

I guess at this point, I have no other choice but to pony up for new batteries.

Re: E.R.I.C. Charger on older carts
FWIW, I had an E-Z-GO TXT48 in my shop the other day that charged up overnight and sat 8 hours, to a resting voltage of 50.4, but only went 16 minutes on the discharge machine. The resting voltage often means absolutely nothing to the overall condition of the batteries.

We are all learning something new everyday. Thanks for the education David. It sucks that you have to replace three year old batteries to get in 18 holes of golf. Aflyer |
