Charger not working
I have a 48 volt system club car and the battery charger is not charging the cart. First let me eliminate the obvious. The batteries are new, the wiring is correct, the inline fuse is good, the f & r fuse is ok and the charger works on other carts. When you plug in the charger you hear a click and the dial doesn't move and the charger doesn't come on, so there you go. HELP

Re: Charger not working
obc.... make sure all wire connections are good on the obc. If its a precedent check the small grey wire and check the connection on the small black wire as well. if all is good you may have a bad obc(on board computer). $300 for a new one.

Re: Charger not working
Is there anyway to check it before having to shell out $300 and it may not be the problem.

Re: Charger not working
Quote:
--with charger plugged in... Separate yellow fuse holder. Leave fuse in receptacle side. Hook jumper wire from tip of fuse to MAIN negative battery terminal. Charger will click and turn on. If it does, control circuit is bad in OBC. This tells you the following; My car has enough voltage to communicate with the charger, and when I supply negative voltage to the control wire, the relay turns on. My OBC isn't providing this voltage as it should. I need to buy a new one. --Often times charger will CLICK but won't charge, if this is your case, proceed... Re-attach yellow fuse holder. Attach jumper wire from either terminal on PLASTIC fuse on back of receptacle to the same MAIN negative battery post and plug in charger. This bypasses the CHARGE circuit that runs through the OBC. However, if your charger isn't clicking to begin with you've got an issue with the control circuit as well and definitely need a new OBC. This test won't tell you a thing unless you're getting a relay click. |
