I wonder how it is that a stock motor should not have access to 500 amps and a bandit motor can have access to 700 amps?

The Western cart has a larger HP motor due to the carts weight. As long as you have a good battery pack (to keep from having a large voltage drop which will spike amps and heat) and don't over load or stall the cart out, max amps are seen for just a short time. Also, just because you put a 700 amp controller on doesn't mean your motor will draw that many amps or your pack can push that many amps. The difference between 500 or 700 amps is only in the take off, after 20' or less the amp draw is dropping like a rock (unless your running very tall tires or high speed gears). Always keep a check for heat issues.........Always keep your cart charged. Every cart is different, only you know how best your cart likes to be driven.

PlumQuick,

Thanks for the details. My Bandit is a great re-build!! I am taking it to 2 gauge wire today. Understand 'start' torque, which I wanted to get. My current 'pack' is 7-T105s, what determines what it can draw? My future upgrade will be 6-T890s.
