Re: Stability Issue
Larger diameter tires could help with stability. Less torque, tho. Those little 10 inch wheels are spinning mighty fast, and are subject to more instability. Larger diameter tires would spin slower......

Re: Stability Issue
One more thing, then I gotta get to work. A few more pounds of pressure would be appropriate if you have 4 people on your cart, and it would help the handling. Good luck!

Re: Stability Issue
What is the possibility that some of this is tire related.
Are your wheels balanced? Tires out of round at all? Seems that going these speeds with unbalanced tire/wheel assemblies could affect a loose steering system even more. |

Capt. Creole---tires are balanced and are not out of round. Smoothest tires I've ever seen on a cart. These tires however, are the first radial tires I have ever run. They have tall sidewalls and I'm wondering if sidewall flex is adding to the problem. Yurtle---if you rebuilding your whole steering system didn't make all your problems completely go away, I wonder what we can do to help with this if anything. |

Re: Stability Issue
I had a rear motorcycle tire that had bad sidewall flexing. Took me some time to figure out what the heck was going on. The higher the speed the more I felt the bike wasn't tracking straight and made me feel a bit out of control.

Re: Stability Issue
Like I said, I don't think it's a matter of loose or slop on mine. Just real sensitive at those speeds. I wonder how many turns a buggy takes to go from lock to lock, compared to a car.
Too lazy to go check. |
