As has been mentioned many times by many people, you learn something new almost every day here.

Wrong motor type wasn't even on the radar.

Also if someone wants to know if a sepex will run on a series cart. Tell them yes, but only on 48 volts and not very fast and not at all on 36 volts
I will this verify this as soon as I get my controller back from alltrax.
One thing to remember through all of this, the voltage reading were right.

Thanks all.
Sonny
While a sepex motor may run with a series controller, I doubt it would last long. The field windings operate at a different amperage and possibly voltage than the armature. That's why the cables are smaller. Even if it's able to physically take the same amperage in the two sets of windings, it will be far from optimum, as the field mapping is not there.

As seen in attachment-1, the stator windings in a series wound motor are a few turns of thick wire and in a sepex motor (attachment-2) the field windings are many turns of thinner wire.

The field current in a sepex motor is typically 10% or less of the armature current, but that will vary depending on RPM and loading (field mapping)

My DCX500 limits field current to 30A, which is about 6% when Armature is drawing 500A.
