Re: Is there a way to temporarily limit speeds on precedent cart?
If I were your kid I would figure a way to bypass the resistor. :-)

Re: Is there a way to temporarily limit speeds on precedent cart?
I'm having no luck finding exactly a 6k ohm resistor. I can find a 6.8k everywhere or a 6.2k in different wattage. I could run another one in series or parallel to get the desired resistance. Yes or no? Or 6800k close enough.

Standard values are 5.6, 6.2 so go with the 6.2. It's plenty close enough.

Sorry - either 5.6 or 6.8 will work. Maybe he is smart enough not to get caught. :-)

Re: Is there a way to temporarily limit speeds on precedent cart?
You can Google "Standard Resistor Values", use the 5% tolerance resistor closest to what You need.
Any of the Film Resistors are fine, or even composite, use the 1/2 watt size. I calculated the Voltage divider on my head in the opposite direction, so here goes some of the math so you can choose Your own Resistor values. The Percentage of Throttle applied will be approximate since we don't really know the throttle curve, but generally it will be close. MCOR Value assumed from White/Black to Purple = 6kΩ = 6,000ΩR = The Resistor value in ohms that You will add to the White/Black wire. Max Throttle% = 600,000/(6,000 + R) R = 10,000Ω: Max Throttle% = 600,000/(6,000+10,000) = 37.5%R = 6,200Ω: Max Throttle% = 600,000/(6,000+6,200) = 49%R = 3,900Ω: Max Throttle% = 600,000/(6,000+3,900) = 60.67% |

Ok. Thx, I'll stop at RadioShack (if they are still open in my area) and pick up a pack.

Sergio , you are amazing
I think you shoud teach a coarse on golf cart electronics. How much would you charge to come do a 3 day class out by Plam Springs? ( ca) |

I don't know if we could learn what Sergio knows. I think it just comes out when he needs it.

I got a feeling that Sergio might be behind " Siri"
