Just too noisy
My cart has gotten just too noisy lately. I have adjusted the valves but still getting some rattling sounds but not really clicking sounds. Anyone have experienced any concave wear in the rocker arms that would prevent an accurate gap measurement. I guess I could pull the rocker arms and see. Don’t want to do that unless I have to. Does a worn drive belt make noises? Do I need an electric cart? Maybe so.

Re: Just too noisy
A good running good condition gas cart should not make a bunch of rattling noises. Does the rattle sound get faster as you speed up the engine? Does it sound the same while driving and revving the engine vs sitting still in neutral?

Re: Just too noisy
When I rev it in neutral it sounds the same as when driving. When I take off It is louder until I get rolling, not a jackrabbit start. Hard to describe the noises. I have three. One is the whine of the differential, I know that one, one is the rattle/clatter sound that I am trying to figure out and the last sounds like a wheel bearing. It is not a wheel bearing because I can get on a hill and put the cart in neutral and coast and the only sound I hear is the tires on the street.

Re: Just too noisy
May not be your issue, but grab a flashlight and take a look at the backside of the secondary clutch. Some of those wear out the grove that is intended for a snap ring that holds the clutch together. once that snap ring gets loose the inner base of the clutch can end up grinding against the transaxle housing. If you see suspiciously shinny ground up aluminum, that may be it.
