Help! Cracked windshield

I just bought a little EZGo which I have to ship to Hawaii on Fri and it has a crack in the lower part of the windshield. Can't get a windshield on the island where we are and need to repair the one we have. I remember the "olden days" in jr high where we used to glue plastic together with some magic glue that melted the plastic together and then we sanded it and buffed it and it was like new!!! We made everything out of that plastic! What was the glue? Where do I get it? Won't it fix this windshield crack? I need magic here. Got any? We used the same kind of glue, I think, to glue together the little plastic medals for our bandelos in the cub scouts if I remember right. It was probably just acetone, but I'm old and can't remember. Help!!!,

The glue can be found, as I cracked mine when I flipped it. The label is hard to read, but appears to say Weld-On 4 Acrylic.

One warning. If the plastic split clean, the repair will be almost invisible. Mine bent until it snapped, so it's visible.

I also bought some plastic abrasive repair polish, which helped. I bought it off the Internet, so shipping to Hawaii shouldn't be a problem.
