shift cable gas club car
installed a new cable on my 99 it hits shock mount; the old cable had a large dent at that spot which made it hard to shift.

Re: shift cable gas club car
You sure you got the correct cable? There are 2 different cables for CC gassers. Do you know for sure that you have a 99? oem part # 1019515-01 for 1998 and up...

Re: shift cable gas club car
it appears that the rear cable mount was bent sometime before I got it I. Not sure if I got it straight might have to find a new one the old cable matched the new one.

Re: shift cable gas club car
But you already said the old one was also rubbing , which means the old one could have also been incorrect if the previous owner replaced. So go with mike's request and check the part nmber of what you ordered could save U some time , or not.

Re: shift cable gas club car
the cable part number and pictures (the newer cable has a metal sleeve) shown match and the serial number says '99 the only left is the bracket which I suppose is a dealer only part.

Re: shift cable gas club car
I believe you will find the problem to be caused by the lift kit. You can remove the bolts holding on the shifter cable bracket to the trans and put 3 washers between mount and trans on one bolt and 2 washers between the other bolt and none behind the last bolt. When you tighten them up the bracket will not be under the shock mounting tab anymore.
