Default G1 engine

Are there any Yamaha g1 motors out there? Just got my first g1 and the engine runs great but leaks like crazy. What are my engine options anyone?

leaks what like crazy? if its oil, you need to stop running it until you can confirm its not a oil feed line to the oil injection pump, or oil feed to carb (this WILL kill your motor). its a big deal when the oil pump gets any air in it (takes serious concentrated work to get all the air back out of that system). it should only use about 1 tank of oil per 10 tanks of fuel, so any air in those lines is slow to get pumped out (easily long enough to destroy the engine from lack of lubrication).

It's probably from the crank seals. Common on 2 strokes. Most will tear the engine down and do a simple rebuild, new piston and rings, seals, gaskets.

I was looking and the complete rebuild kits are about $500
Will definitely rebuild it just wanted to find a second engine (a backup) so when one needs rebuilt the cart doesn't have to sit idle.

If anyone could point me to a rebuild thread I would appriceiate it. I have been searching and reading a lot but can't locate a thread about rebuilding a g1 engine.
Thanks

Don't buy the kit take it apart and see what piston you have and buy one size bigger and have your local machine shop bore it out minus new crank bearings gasket seals and piston you can do it for about $250
