Default Troubleshoot Ignitor Wiring Harness before and after the connector G9

My cart died, no spark, wiggling the wiring harness below/around the ignitor got spark back, drove to the garage, was harder and harder to start even with more wiggling, bought new aftermarket ignitor, still no spark BUT I do not like how the new connector latches together with the old wiring harness connector, with the old ignitor it is tight/snug. with the new it is loose, my question is:

How to troubleshoot the the ignitor wiring harness before and after the connector? Are there volt readings for the connector?

and

How can I firm up the connection on the new aftermarket ignitor?, I have tried bending the contacts a little bit each way to no avail. Not sure if the contacts are secure.

I have a test light, volt ohm meter and a MAC Intermittent Short Indicator.

My problem is that I no longer have an intermittent issue, I get no spark no mater how much I wiggle

Check all the wires, you could have a simple ground or hot wire is bad in particular the connectors. Most G9 I have seen the connectors to the starter solenoid are replaced on the small wires. The red/white wire is the power from the pedal its gives 12v to the ignitor/coil/pickup/start solenoid when you hit the pedal. That is easy to check for 12v, then you have to test the ground wires back to battery.

Just so I understand sho305, even though it is a five pin connector, it only uses two wires, one for 12 volts and one for ground? That should be easy to check, will do so today and report back.

I do have good 12 volt power going into the coil on the red/white wire.

Thank you so much sho305, I had good ground at the solenoid (black wire), started removing the black tape on the harness and found two black wires spliced into that black wire, one was no longer connected and that was the one to the ignitor. Reconnected and got spark back.
