G14 Drum Brakes
Hey guys, i' bought some OEM brake pads to replace the worn out ones.
I only did the passenger side. got it installed but i am unable to get the drum back over the brake pads. I've tried adjusting the little cog with "teeth" on it. as that is the only adjustable piece i can find on there. that did nothing. No matter how i move the pads, they are too thick and will not allow me to get the drum back over it. And yes the brake pedal was not depressed. Any suggestions before i take it out to the golf cart shop. They want an arm and a leg to do the job. |

Re: G14 Drum Brakes
Did you remove the cable from the brake assembly? Make sure that the moving parts are clean and move freely. After new shoes are installed, an adjustment at the pedal is usually necessary.

Re: G14 Drum Brakes
I had the same problem on my G 14, but as Dave mentioned, after I removed both cables and cleaned all the parts up the drums slid back over the shoes.

Re: G14 Drum Brakes
The whole adjustment system is under a floor panel beneath the pedals.
