Switching forward and reverse gear Carryall
I posted this in Big Block talk but it might be more pertinent here.
I have a Carryall II (1999) that I just put a Lifan 420 in. As expected, the reverse is fast and the forward is slow and loud, due to the switched rotation. My question is, can the gears simply be switched? If the high speed 8:1 gear works on the reverse gear, would that imply that the forward and reverse gears are the same, and could be switched to make the speed proper again? Thanks! Luke |

Re: Switching forward and reverse gear Carryall
No. The high speed gears changes the intermediate pinion gear and the crown gear of the final drive. (The biggest gear in the trans)
Neither of the forward or reverse gears are changed with any high speed gear set. |
