Got all the oem gaskets and oem spacer. Installed the parts the way you guys recommended and all went well. Thanks for the great tips on how to install this without it cracking! I installed new gasket in airbox as well. Getting back fire still if im running pedal to the metal and then let off and then back on again. I have absolutely no air leaks and i have a brand new carb. Any thing i should look into for that? I do have the crew turned in on the governer on the transmission all the way. my cart goes about 15mph according to gps. Is this the reason for backfire?

Careful not to over tighten, they will crack every time.

Oh boy.. I can hardly wait to start mine. Maybe I just need Dave to go ahead and send me out gaskets and new spacer plate.

Its really not as bad as this thread would imply. Unless you are known to tighten everything with a cheater bar. Just remember its plastic.

Manual says 6 Nm so that = 4.4 ft lbs = 53 in lbs. Carburetor holding nut.

I try to get yamaha parts for that stuff, usually from tntgolf or a local dealer. Why, if the price is not much different the yamaha quality is typically very good, and lot of things the price is not that bad. Far as I know tnt is only online dealer for OEM but I could be wrong. They have nice diagrams of the parts and I've had good luck with them on oem parts you have limited places to get.

BU lists $18 for that spacer, tnt lists $22, that is $4 more for something you should never have to buy again in normal use. Hard to say who is more or less in shipping. Anyway I don't care what you buy, but for me I'd get the yamaha one. How long these carts last is proof of the quality and for $4 roughly %20 on a small but important part I'd go the extra 4 bones. I know sometimes you order other stuff its easier to get it all at one place, just saying yami stuff is usually worth it.

I've put a couple on and never had a problem, just hand tight more or less. I also file or sanded it a little to make sure it was flat on the mounting surfaces, as most people would on a sealing part.

They seem to get more brittle with age. All 3 I broke were with taking the carb off after being on there for some time.
