Re: Ezgo marathon project - complete novice!!!
one other question. im curious as why you cut up the oem dash?.. all you really had to do was trim the middle section underneath the cup holders everything else at least on my cart is lining up.

Re: Ezgo marathon project - complete novice!!!
Hi Nate...
Yes i can send you some upclose pics, Ill go and take some in a minute for you. In regards to the dash. I had to move the middle horizontal beams so they sat over the ridge that runs along the original marathon dash panel. I wanted it to look factory fit, so adjusted everything to make it look bang on. I have a bit of OCD when I do these projects, that if im not going to do it properly, then i wont do it at all. Ill go take some pics for you...... |

Re: Ezgo marathon project - complete novice!!!
Please see attached......
If you need any others, let me know. What I will say is, on mine, I had to insert the ally strengtheners to widen the legs about 1 1/2" each side, to fit. This isnt me being stupid, as I know someone will say it should fit the cowl no problem.....But the marathon chassis is wider at the bottom and sits "squarer" if you like and the legs at the bottom flair out a touch more. |

Re: Ezgo marathon project - complete novice!!!
Just a small update of what ive done today....
fibreglassed in the docking station mould that i made and cut out the iphone stand slot, all fits perfectly, thank god!! I did not fancy doing it twice!! Will hopefully get some more done today....Want to get the dash finally finished, or somewhere near finished anyway. Had some ABS sheets delivered today that I want to cut and shape to take place of the existing screw down parts on the dash "legs". Will post pics once ive fabbed them up later. |

Re: Ezgo marathon project - complete novice!!!
Yeah once I got down to business on it I realized uhh ooo . Dash and orginal dash need trimming . I just ended up cutting underneath the cup holders some on the plastic insert. Then on the metal dash I cut 2 1/4 inch off and notchd out the middle fell right into place after doing so. I will say it came out sweet and im more than happy with the new look

Yeah i know what youre saying, I thought of that first off, I just didnt like the thought of the metal dash being 1-2" higher than the pocket opening. But hey ho.....
