Default Back firing so slow down 2004 txt

I have searched the forum and I understand that I need to verify that the throttle closes properly.

My throttle Plate/butterfly on my carb never closes. It does not seem like it is suppose to fully close.

The cart runs very well. It gets up to speed quickly. The cart back fires after a good run while slowing down.

Thanks for any help.

Are we talking about the same part?

The only time it closes fully is when I use the choke.
Does anything exist that shows the proper adjustment

No,that's the choke plate/butterfly;the throttle plate/butterfly is located futher back inside the carb.

should I be able to see it close?
How do I adjust it?
I don't know exactly what terms to search for or if anyone has done a write up of the work

I adjusted the front cable as shown it the link. (that was really helpful)

My cart does not back fire at all now when slowing down in forward gear.

My cart does not have the second adjustment point shown in the above link. I believe it is for the reverse throttle cable.

The cart does back fire a little in reverse.

Does anyone have any ideas on what else to do. The carts runs perfect in forward gear.
