1993 ezgo gas 295 ignitior !!!!
Be for I start I should state something's I've done to the cart I removed the gas pedal switch to start the starter it is now on a switch so I can fire up the cart then Kill the starter. Also removed reverse buzzer just unplugged the pos feed to it's switch mounted on the fwd/rev cable mounting plate .it worked great for years like this untill a month or so ago my ignitor on the cart burnt out like literally melted (it's the plastic shell ignotor). So I tried to figure out what happened few guys said check your grounds and make sure you have 12v coming out of your solenoid and regulator I have 11.58 v on both and the battery .. I got the part today($160.oo) and tried to fire it up but still no spark and it started to get hot again!! So I unplugged it and I am stuck I don't no what elce to try what would you try ?! sounds like your ignition coil could be shorted. Remove wires on the two small terminals, read ohm value of the primary, should be 3.5 ohms or greater.
