Need Commet 94C clutch help
I have a 88 EZGO 2pg lifted with 25" tires. My stock clutch is pretty bad so I threw on a stock 3pg clutch for the 4th. It worked very well but I know the shaft taper is not quite right so I want to get this 94C commet working correctly.
The clutch is like new and came on a 2pg engine I bought for parts. When I put it on my current cart, the cart starts to move as soon as the starter engages. Once the cart starts it has lots of torque, but the clutch will not fully close to engage high gear. The clutch has a yellow spring in it and slides freely. What weigth pucks would be correct for this cart? |

Re: Need Commet 94C clutch help
It sounds like you have 2 separate issues.
The belt should not be engaging while the starter is turning and the clutch is all the way open. Make sure that the clutch is set up for the correct width belt, usually 1-3/16". Secondly, if it isn't shifting out completely, you may have the wrong pucks in it, or too stiff of a spring. What pucks, and quantity are currently installed? |
