Default Lifting a Workhorse 1000E ?

Does anyone know of a reason I shouldn't be able to move the rear axle of this 98 Workhorse 1000E from above the leaf springs, to under the leaf springs? It would give me maybe 3-4 inches extra clearance, which is all I'm after. Also wondering if I couldn't do something similar to the front axle ? although I know the shock mounts would have to be relocated or changed.

there doesn't seem to be much in the way of lift kits for these things ,, unless one of the other ezgo models will also fit it, I've really only found a couple options and they appear to be 6inch kits, which is a lot more than I want.

Standard 4" axle lift will work but you might have to flip the rear brakes from side to side if the cables are on top.

I'm familiar with swapping backing plates, I had to do that on my club car, when you say standard 4in lift ,, for what model ? I haven't seen one listed specifically for the workhorse ?

thanks ! doesn't seem to be a lot of info out there on these workhorse models, I was hoping to lift it a little, and replace the Curtis enclosure with a regular roof and uprights, so far not having much luck finding leftover/surplus uprights either,, might just have to fix a couple small things on this one and let someone else own it, if parts are going to be hard to locate.

The workhorse is basically a stretched txt nothing more. Rear roof supports are different but not much else. The lift link I posted is what I used on my 99 horse. I still own two but have been through a few. If you have questions ask.

So anything for a txt in my year model should work on this one ? Cool ! that's what I needed to know, I have been unable to find anything that told me what model the workhorse was equivalent to,

If I get rid of the Curtis enclosure I will need to find a seat back to install, do you know if I can use or modify a txt seat back and mounts to work on the workhorse ?

With a little tweaking the txt rear seat will fit. I have seen a few. There is a guy over in Augusta who is buying workhorse chassis, putting a new engine kit in them, adding the rear seat and putting a place for a cooler in between I will snap a picture if I see one again.

I have a Workhorse 1200 and there was a Jakes 6" lift listed for mine.
