If the solenoid has as pre charge resistor and place the DVM leads as I mentioned earlier you should get a couple volts less than pack voltage on the controller side of the solenoid. If you press the pedal and the solenoid clicks and the voltage on the controller side of the solenoid drops out, that would mean the contracts are not making contact. Or he should remove resistor and wires and just ohm the solenoid when it clicks. That's just how I check a solenoid without having to remove all that stuff.

That’s how I was checking it. Negative on battery pack and positive on controller side of the solenoid. It drops to 20V or less when it engages. I’m pretty sure that’s where the problem is.

Btw the brushes were stuck but they are moving freely now.

Does the voltage drop any at all on the battery side? If it does it may be a battery or cable problem, if it doesn't it will be the solenoid.

Voltage is a constant 38.1 on the battery side. When the solenoid clicks the controller side drops. I’m leaning toward the solenoid

Another sign the solenoid is bad and the controller may be ok is the resistor should get red hot when you energize the solenoid and its contacts don't make.

Default Flooded cart ..... help me troubleshoot it

Thanks for the input. As expected it was the solenoid. Runs good now.

Edit in case anyone just scrolls to the bottom of this thread. I changed the controller and solenoid and it’s good to go.
