Default new to me easy go cart and new to buggies gone wild

title says it new to it all
i got this cute little cart for 140 bucks he said it has never moved once his dad got it 10 years ago
never had batteries in it since they owned it
i put 3 car 12 volts in for testing swapped the keyed switch for a heavy duty toggle
and she runs so nice
my 7 year old son and I started disassembly for some cleaning and body work before painting
and some much needed maintenance IE grease everything rust descaling and metal coating to prevent further rusting
here are a couple of pics
after some research and reading
i believe the vin tags shows we have a Dec. 23rd 1984 model pic included for verification

This was a good project for you to start with. I would not put a lot of money in it, but with some elbow grease and hustling for used parts, you can end up with a nice toy with very little in it.

It is great that the frame and battery tray is not corroded beyond use, I have had to scrap several of that vintage of the years due to that and I have kept a few odds and ins, I might even have some free parts to contribute if you need them.

I will be happy to help you in any way I can as will a LOT of other people here who know a LOT more than I do.

Welcome aboard

Thanks for the welcome
I think we would only need the metal for the roof supports and a roof
Oregon is so wet and protection from the rain
Is high in our to do list
If anyone has a template schematic of measured
Drawings of the supports I have a friend that works at a boat shop they make bimini aluminum and canvas tops
He offered to bed some aluminum if I can get the correct info

Best bet is to take the cart there and let him work from that.

And the top, unless he is building you one.
