94 EZGO Medalist TXT wont go up hill
I have a 94 (K3094) Medalist runs fine on normal level ground. When you start up hill it slows down and quits, after that batteries are zapped and you have to recharge.
When this happens the motor gets so hot you cant touch it as well as the cables that go to the motor from the controller. Pack voltage drops to below 36 volts even though they were at full charge. Is this a motor issue? Al batteries check OK and are one year old, controller is Curtis 400 AMP, cables are new 4 gauge, F&R switch is HD, and the solenoid is HD. All connections are tight and clean. Basically everything on this cart is less than a year old except for the motor which is original. Thanks Ray |

The motor may be the problem. You could be certain if you can verify that the batteries are good with a SG test for each cell or a drawdown test

Re: 94 EZGO Medalist TXT wont go up hill
I was going to take the batteries back to the easy go dealer where i purchased them but they have closed down.
By SG due you mean a Specific Gravity? Haven't seen one those in a long time? Is there a resistance value on the motor by chance that i could test? Thanks Ray |

Re: 94 EZGO Medalist TXT wont go up hill
My starting pack voltage was 38 volts. When i was going up extremely steep hills the lowest it went down to was 30 volts. I attempted to climb another steep hill and the cart wouldn't climb it. Voltage hit 29.9 on that one.
Drove the cart for a long while after and when i parked it the pack voltage was 36.1 Batteries were load tested and all checked OK. Cart worked much better yesterday but it 80 degrees yesterday. The day i had so much trouble it was like 45 degrees. Any suggestions? Thanks to all |
