2011 RXV Brake Issue
Trying to get my RXV up and running. After checking the batteries I went to take it out and noticed that the brake is dragging. I tried tow mode and it still is locked up. I checked for voltage at the plug on the motor brake and it reads 50v in tow mode. I checked the resistance of the coil in the brake and got a reading of 25.5 ohm. not sure what to check next.

Re: 2011 RXV Brake Issue
Maybe you have some corrosion between your plates on the brake. If you feel comfortable taking the brake apart clean it and see if that helps.

Just trying to learn about my cart. I'm a fix it myself guy and I'm very interested in how they work. thanks for helping me.

Re: 2011 RXV Brake Issue
I see these brake issues all the time in my shop. Some RXV’s will simply lock up when the brakes done and some will roll away. I’ve also seen cases like yours it is dragging and if you get it on a steep enough hill it will burn up completely. You can check voltages and use the handheld all day but when these brakes act up it’s time for a new one. Chock the tires and take out the 3 10 mm bolts. Before you re install the new brake clean the bolts really good and WD-40 them it will make life easier! Good luck

Re: 2011 RXV Brake Issue
I am having the same problem w/ my '09 RXV.
Check out my recent thread "Overheating issue". I've ordered a new OEM parking brake AND OEM 36v solenoid. Stay tuned. |
