EZ GO controller upgrade ?
The cart is a D200
SN 1264107 I am currently desulfating the badly damaged batteries and am interested in a motor controller upgrade for this cart. What would be a good option for a cart of this age? I have attached pictures. |

Re: EZ GO controller upgrade ?
what you have is a Model Year: 2000 Make/Model: TXT Standard (PDS)
its not THAT old.....for a golf cart its in its prime! 1. the question we have is what do you with your cart? 2. do you use it for golf? is it just for cruising the neighborhood? 3. going to use is off road? 4. is it hilly where you live? 5. how fast do you want it to go? |

Re: EZ GO controller upgrade ?
I think you need to research the project more before you pull the trigger on a new motor. A new motor should probably be the last item on your upgrade list.

Re: EZ GO controller upgrade ?
I suspect you might be interested in upgrading just the controller rather than the motor and the controller.
Get an Alltrax XCT48400 and MJZ 400 solenoid that will operate at 36V, 42V and 48V, so you can run at 36V now and 42V or 48V later. With stock height (18") tires the stock PDS motor will propel the cart at about 24 MPH with a 36V battery pack. When you replace your damaged batteries, install seven 6V for 42V. That is the sweet spot for PDS carts, but 48V works well also. (The XCT is user programmable - so you can adjust the performance to your liking.) Except for the F/R selector and how the steering mechanism is mounted the 36V PDS carts were essentially the same during the entire production run. (2000 - 2010?) They make good neighborhood cruisers, but some have been made into hunting carts and the like. |
