In absolute agreement with that statement. The depth of knowledge is simply remarkable and the willingness to share/assist a sure sign of pending sainthood

As a few folks are following this thread, I'll post the results in a few days.

Ok, final update on this one. Turns out the lithium batteries I acquired are limited by the BMS built into each battery to a max output of 200 amps. Any draw over 200 amps and the BMS shuts the batteries down for a few seconds. Under a decent load the RXV is drawing considerably more than 200 amps so the batteries shut down and, not surprisingly, the controller reports an under current error. Batteries are headed back and the search goes on. Again, thanks to Bob for his insight and help.

Yuppirs. It takes about 500 Amps from the battery pack to deliver the full 235 Amps per phase (735 Amps total) of 3 phase power to the motor. Thank goodness, that is not a constant draw, it is peak current. The battery pack you choose must be capable of handling that.

The supplier that I bought my GBS cells from added a 500 Amp shunt to my package once he found out how much power I will be feeding to the motor in my Bandolero. DC input peaks on that system will exceed 750 Amps to the 350 Amp RXV controller.

In a few days, I'll revise the BMS drawing that I sent you. I'm adding a 48V Bosch-style SPDT relay that can interrupt power to the chargers AC input, and to add a keyswitch sense line that can be connected to the + side of the solenoid coil to detect when the keyswitch is on. I'll be rerouting the charger inputs as well.

Hi Bob, as everyone else says, thanks for sharing your knowledge.

I have a member at the club who is getting a 2018 RXV with factory Lithium pack. Can I assume that this controller can also be upgraded as you have described earlier? I do have the 1313-4401 programmer, so if I can make some changes to get some more speed out of it, that would be great. He will be going to 20.5" tires soon as well.

Again thanks for sharing....

Please Private message me, & Bob, with your location. If you’re in the Southwest, (Oklahoma, Texas area) I have an OEM Programmer.
