2012 RXV resistor control module question
I bought a 2012 RXV for a song and a dance, because the previous owner used it for a parts cart. Come to find out.not only did he yank the danaher controller, but also the solenoid, the burnoff resistor, heat shield, controller brackets, and the resistor control module...
I have a navitas controller and solenoid on the way however my question is does the cart/controller actually need the resistor control module to run? (I live in florida and we have the topography of a pancake, so the resistor wont be used.) |

Re: 2012 RXV resistor control module question
Going by the instructions on the Navitas website you don't need the resistor control module. The resistor control is built into the controller like the Curtis controller. I would use a resistor. It doesn't seem like a good idea to me to risk a new controller to save a few dollars. You need the heat shield to mount the resistor. There is also a bi-metal switch that mounts to the top of the heat shield. I don't know what it does but I'm guessing it is some kind of overheating safety switch.
The controller and all the things you mentioned bolt to each other and can be removed in one piece when you unbolt the controller. Maybe the guy you bought the cart from has the resistor and heat shield. |
