Default Keeping the battery compartment clean

What do you guys think of sealing the bottom of a lifted S4 to keep dust, mudd,water on the outside of the cart. I am not sure if the batteries, controller,converter need the airflow. It takes me 3 x the amount of time to clean the inside as it does the outside.
