Default Model identification and wiring diagram help please!!

Hi everyone, new to the forum and truly appreciate all the help i can get!! I just got a 3 wheel ez go as a surprise from my lovely fiance and im having the hardest time researching this cart, nothing i find seems to match up to what im reading...first i scraped off the identification tag and found codes 79G2 and I7889I...and from what ive read im thinking its a 79?? But when i pull wiring diagrams the 79 scematics dont look right and some from the Malex look real close but obviously a ezgo. The motor is a GE motor, and it has a coil. Other than that its a 3 wheeler with a bad *** eagle someone put on the feom hence my screen name Threagle....thats about what i have deciphered so far. Luckily i have someone in town who is a genius with electric so we are going to eventually update the entire system, but since i just got new batteries wanted to hook it up and see if it runs!! It seems like maybe many people have tried and ive have gotten the wires back to where they seem to go from cross referencing many diagrams but before i ever try it i want to be sure i am looking at the right schematics. Im super excited ive always wanted an older 3 wheeler so now i got what i asked for lol....problems 😀 but i think with a little help i can get this restoration on the way!! I really appreciate any help and i know ill be asking alot of questions so i appologize but ive been a gas motor guy and finally talked into electric and pretty excited to rebuild and learn something new just want to make sure its right!!

Yes it will work. Any one of the Marathon resistor cart wiring diagrams will work if you wire the whole cart by the diagram you pic. There are a few different ways to wire them. Follow the diagram you pick it will work

Well after a long long night and many many 🍻🍻 i got this son of a gun running!! Cant believe how strong it runs with all these old parts!! The first two diagrams i used didnt work for me but the one attached i found in a late night google hunt did it!! Only thing off of this diagram was forward and reverse were switched so i swapped f1 and f2 ( i think thats the codes?) at the motor and works like a dream!! Now on to strip it down and start the restoration and complete motor and wiring upgrade! Thanks for all the help just thought id share what worked for me since the first two diagrams for this cart did not. Also anybody have idea of year/model of this cart?? Did i decipher that tag right reading it would be a 79 marathon? Or is it 89?? Seems older to me esspecially having that ge engine in it
