Default New f&r switch no power in forward

Ok so I'm newer to golf carts. I have a series model txt and my f&r switch got hot last weekend and forward quit working. I bought a new heavy duty one from buggies unlimited. I put the new switch in and hooked it up the exact way the old one was. I took pics of the old one so I knew they were the same. The cart works exactly as it should in reverse but in forward i get no power. The solenoid dose not click in forward and it acts like i have it between forward and reverse. If I switch the wires at 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock on the f&r switch it will go forward with it in the reverse position. Ohmed the wires that got hot and they were ok but did not take them off or un hook them. Do i need to unhook them to ohm them? Where should I check first and how do I go about it?

I know your pain...I installed a new F/R switch on my TXT and have forward but no reverse... except my solenoid clicks both ways.. sounds like we may have the same crossed wires lol

Make sure the micro switch on the drivers side is closing when the cart is in forward. Might need to slide the fnr switch assembly to get everything lined up. Lever on the front of the switch should be straight up when the cart is in N.
