Re: Smokin' Deal with a loose connection
I got some progress to show. I finished the rear end lift. It is a Jakes 3'' with a custom 1 extra leaf spring added. I use an extra pr of stock leaf springs and cut the ends off to make them into extra leafs. There is always a little more to it than that but it always works out well. I like the ride I get when it is done. This cart will have a cargo box on the back to help utilize the extra spring. I am expecting a Jakes 3" spindle lift in the mail Soon!

Lookin' good ScottyB. I'm going to look into that lift kit and new leaf spring as this little puppy is going to be for fun and work. I particulary like your choice of floor covering for your work area. Southwestern motif isn't it?? Randy

Re: Smokin' Deal with a loose connection
Pretty fancy, eh? Wife put it out with the trash.
Who knows how it ended up on the floor in the garage. It sure beats laying on the floor. But, it hides small parts in the patterns - LOL Got the front spindles to put in - will try to post some pics tonight |

Re: Smokin' Deal with a loose connection
Lookin' good. I think I'm going to have to reconsider a drop kit for mine. Just gotta figure a way to justify it to my budget... OK done. I'm off to Jakes web site to see what kind of goodies I can spend my kids inheritance on. I'll post pics next week.

Re: Smokin' Deal with a loose connection
I keep old carpet for the garage, best colors are like tan or white. I once had a green and black diamond patern talk about hidding parts. I install carpet from time to time for peeps and so always have new carpet when needed. Keeps the cold from the floor from freezing you in the winter.

Re: Smokin' Deal with a loose connection
I finally got the rewireing done enough to have a running cart. On the jack stands that is. The six 8v batteries are a simple installation. Like any conversion, it is all common sense wiring. So with that complete I stuck the rear body on. I will do a brake job this week (after work hours) and post some pics.
Did have some time to take the other 48v converted CC to the jobsite to play in the dozer cuts. This is the Ranch Rat cart. No bumpers, No key, no fancy stuff! lol. It has some very impressive torque. Lots of hill climbing ability too. This cart has the same 3 inch lift and 22 inch tires on it...Later |

Re: Smokin' Deal with a loose connection
The cart in the pic above is the same year & model as the cart in this thread.
It was the experimental cart for a 48v conversion. It is going on 10 mos. without a hitch. We really tested it this weekend, cut slopes on the job are 1:1 or 45 degree inclines. The cart did really well on that stuff - felt like I was going straight up After I am done with the cart in this thread I will body off rehab this one too. |
