Default Intermittent F-R problem

Hi there. Have an 2010 Excel Precedent Villager 4 seater - 1515S 350A controller - Executioner motor and HD solenoid and HD wiring.

Starting to have a problem when I switch from R to F. I can hear a clicking when I hit the go pedal but there's no drive. If I flick the switch back to R then F 4 or 5 times, the problem goes. I'm guessing it's just a matter of time until I get a total fail. Cart is usually ok in R, but I did have to flick the switch a couple of times to make that work tonight.

I have the standard F-R unit and never upgraded this when I increased to a 350 controller. I don't know the anatomy of the switch and whether or not it's the rocker switch or what is beneath it that I should be replacing, or could this just be dirty contacts?

Do I need an HD switch? Many thanks

Do You hear the reverse buzzer?

If not, the problem is most likely the switch.

The Sepex controllers don't need an HD switch since they use very low current to control the F and R selection.

Yes I hear the reverse buzzer. Problem presents itself in F. Is it the rocker switch or what is beneath it that I need to replace or is this one unit?

Sorry - I should have asked - are the contacts accessible to clean or does this usually just mean you need to replace something?
