Default Club Car Charger constant hum

Does anyone know why my 48 v club car charger runs constantly? What I mean is when it is plugged into the wall and NOT plugged into the golf cart, you can hear and feel it running. It is a very low hum.

Could someone have rewired it or bypassed something to bypass the OBC on the golf cart?

Thx!!

If it is humming not plugged into the cart, the relay is at fault....Stuck closed

Wait, that relay is not even wired to the circuit.

Most likely someone tried to by-pass it because it was not working, but they clearly had no clue what they were doing.

Please look at this post for how those AC power wires are supposed to be wired.

The Green ground wire should be connected to the chassis right above where the AC powers comes into the charger.

The Transformer wire that is plugged to the breaker needs to be moved to one of the Relay contacts.

You need a short length 12ga wire jumper with 1/4" quick connects on each side to go from the breaker to the other Relay contact.

Buy a new relay and suppression diode first.
