Did the problem start after you have any maintenance done to the cart?

The reason I am asking is that You can miss-wire the cables on the FNR switch so it only works in one position.

Verify each cable from the FNR switch goes were it is supposed to go according to the wiring diagram.

Checked all the wires from the switch, according to wiring diagram they are all connected correctly!

What wiring diagram are You using?

Given it is a new FNR and the symptoms that you are describing, it appears the cables are going to the wrong posts on the motor.

Can you post a picture of the FNR and of the Motor showing the cables?

The 36v VGlide coil drive system had 2 versions:

First diagram is the early version with negative key switch (up to 94).

Second diagram is the later version with positive key switch (after 94).

Based on your colors it looks like the later version, maybe these versions are better resolution than the ones you have.

no ... if it moves in reverse solenoid is working
check the black and purple for continuity

you can test the motor

motor test

WARNING you don't want to make a big spark anywhere near the battery.

note : use 2 wrenches on motor studs to keep them from spinning

reverse neg and pos to run other way

Crash, we already know the Motor is working since it moves in one direction.

The only thing involved in changing the direction of rotation is the FNR switching the circuit.

Since the solenoid clicks in both FNR positions, the micro-switches are wired correctly and working.

The FNR is new so we will assume all copper bars and electrical contact points are working.

The most likely reason is the FNR is wired incorrectly so the circuit only aligns in one position.

I would follow the FNR cables again to make sure they are connected to the correct motor terminals.

The colors don't mean anything since someone could have messed with the cart wiring in the last 20+ years, what is important is that the wires connect to where the wiring diagram indicates.
