Re: Insurance
I suppose. I do know that the Kentucky Statute does not require registration or plates, so while everything else is required (seat belts, lights, brake lights, horn, and LSV emblem) my cart will be legal here in Kentucky, but not in states that require plates.
As more and more states adopt this, I feel like there will be a standard that everyone goes by. I was going to say that the manufacturers should start giving the carts 17 digit VIN numbers, but then all of the safety requirements would need to be met, and that is not goi g to happen out of the factory for all carts. |

Re: Insurance
Right you are Kashmir. You would be illegal elsewhere. Another can of worms.
As I have stated in this forum and elsewhere, I'm all for State's Rights and autonomy from the Federal Government. However, this is something that will never go away and continue to get worse unless the states can get together on it, or the national government gets involved. |

Re: Insurance
Here in Arizona the difference is based on "Gated" or non-gated....a gated community the roads in that community are owned by the community and only governed by the hoa's of that community. Non-gated communities the roads are owned by the City and all golf carts must be titled and licensed and insured as a motor vehicle with lights, horn and other street legal items.

Re: Insurance
We had to but a Liability policy for my Precedent for use on city streets at the beach in SC.
We went to our Insurer, who has t houses, and 4 cars, and he told me like $700. I said thank you & no thank you. I called an Allstate office at the beach and we are paying $87.00. Aflyer |

Re: Insurance
I live in PA and just put full coverage on my new build in PA, with Progressive? I just did it online and no issues with VIN at all, they even fut on $7k in aftermarket add ons. Since we have no shot at driving in PA, I mainly did for theft coverage when I leave it up at camp sometimes.

Re: Insurance
That is very true, however I am not sure how it applies? I didn't ONLY insure it for theft? Like I said, full coverage. Just because I cannot drive it on the roads in PA doesn't mean that I don't want to be covered in campgrounds, public trails, etc ( all which require liability insurance ).
