Might be a good thing the solenoid didn't click. Using a voltmeter to troubleshoot with may have revealed this problem earlier if polarity on display was observed.

ok well I removed and repositioned the batterys and rewired it to the correct way but I still don't have anything BUT THE SOLINOID DONT GET HOT ANYMORE but now where do we go

a lot of people have bypassed the reed switch, unless you feel safer with it just leave it bypassed

Don't do it. I bought a new one and it only lasted a couple of years. A costly part that has a high failure rate, and can leave you stranded. Just bypass it.

Reed switch has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with charging. It merely kills the cart when the charger is plugged in, to prevent you from driving away, dragging your charger behind you. I bypassed mine, after two died, as have many others. Even EZ-GO decided not to install them on newer carts.

If you want to play it safe, just pass the charger cord through the steering wheel, so you'll remember to unplug it before taking off.
