Default Voltage converter wiring

Just making sure. Orange wire is the switch wire correct?

That would be my guess. Sounds like a p!ss poor translation for the key switch - "Lock".

I used to be amused at old Japanese manuals' translations. "Please not to turn the switch or cause dishonor for family".

I think I bought the same reducer in 48v. Mine didn't have the wiring on the reducer and no instructions with or in box. After about 3 days of trying to figure it out and many post on here, I was told to look back at the ebay add. Which is where i found a picture like the one you posted. Wired as per picture and worked perfectly.

These translations are what i call a "chinese comic book". The "manual" (lol) included with the new yamaha JW9 charger says stuff like "be sure wire clamps are on correct 12v terminals" (its 48v, and has a plug that only goes one way), and the charger wiring diagram says "Positive", "negative", and "INTERROCK"...i got a great Raugh out of that.
