Re: "Valet" Speed Switch for cart?
There's more than one way to do this. I'd put the switch in the orange wire going to pin 4. That will allow the backup beeper to still function.

Re: "Valet" Speed Switch for cart?
Gonna need a diode just like on the solenoid, or the reverse buzzer on all the time will be a "dead giveaway" that its in "slow" mode.

Re: "Valet" Speed Switch for cart?
You're right. I looked at this a while back, and you could use a DPDT switch to let the half speed MS control the beeper and the toggle control pin 4. The second position of the toggle restores normal operation.

Re: "Valet" Speed Switch for cart?
Oops. Only need a SPDT switch. Disconnect the orange wire from pin 4 on the controller and connect it to the common of the SPDT, one terminal goes to one side of MS4 and the other goes to the other side of MS4. The beeper will work as usual, no need for a diode.

Re: "Valet" Speed Switch for cart?
Thanks. I usually try and draw up circuits in my brain, but find that when I draw them up on paper, they don't always work.

Re: "Valet" Speed Switch for cart?
Generally they are simpler. DPDT is my standby. In this case SPST will work.

Re: "Valet" Speed Switch for cart?
How about an extra key switch? That would be cool too :)

Re: "Valet" Speed Switch for cart?
That would work just as well as a hidden toggle.
Again, unless you have a max regen, coasting downhill will go REALLY fast. |
