You add a 6v battery in the space provided under the driver's seat and purchase a 42 v charger
Seven 6v batteries in series equals 42v.

I use a 42V DPI Acusense charger. http://www.cartsunlimited.net/48v_Battery_Charger.html

There are other brands out there, but the DPI is the best bang for the buck.

It is worth it, but a little too much oomph for a stock PDS motor.
However, you can adjust the max current down to about 400A and still get better overall performance while being ready for a more robust motor in the future.

Ok that is perfect, i had planned on uprgrading the controller and motor at the same time and had been putting money away for it. It just happens that the controller seems to have gone out before i was ready to do the entire swap. But i dont want to wait and leave the cart broke down in the garage.

We can pre-set the controller output for you so you do not have to do it. There is still no charge for this service.

The controller supplies both B+ and B- to the solenoid coil via the Yellow and Blue wires, which are connected to J1 Pins 7 & 6 respectively.

Flip the Run/Tow switch to Tow and unplug J1 from controller. Measure between Pins 6 & 7 in wiring harness side with an ohmmeter. If you have continuity, the two wire and solenoid coil are good, so the solenoid activation circuitry inside the controller is defective, which means the controller has to be replaced.

This conclusion is based on you stating you have B+ on all the wires highlighted on the schematic I posted.

BTW: Toss a DCX400 controller in your cart and it will do about 24 MPH on stock height tires, if the batteries, high-current cables and solenoid are up to par.

What if i do not have continuity between the blue and yellow wires?

Never mind, i bet i burned up the solenoid yesterday building jumpers to activate it. now when i clicks the cart wont move. Those wires are only a few inches long i would see if they were damaged. i have to buy a new solenoid for the controller anyway.

The kits Scotty sells include the solenoid.
