goes only in reverse

the cart was working one moment and had dead peddle the next... took it to a cart shop they wanted to sell me batteries ... told them it was not batteries... they said they run electrical diagnosis.. silinoid bad or weak...but never removed the cover............. speed controller could not be tested due to no voltage.. never removed the cover. I took it home reconstituted batteries all 6 have 6+ volts... no peddle...took controller cover off... controller resistor across the silinoid was broken diodes one dropped out and the on other was broken on one side. I took it out and re soldered it and now the cart works fine but only in reverse... the f&r mech..........is aliened I metered the mirco switches and they are ok.... I saw a post for another person here that indicated that the silinoid has two sides and this problem may be one side staying open... on old fords we used to pound the noid with a screwdriver and it worked this is slightly different... do you think\
the noid is the problem... thanks mark

oh yes... you mentioned in another post that one 99 cart has a toggle switch on the dash and the other has a select leaver by the right knee.................you indicated that the one with the select lever is a series cart ... and the other another type of cart................NOTICE.... my cart has a select lever by the right knee..........and I also have a toggle switch on the controller box... has some one changed this cart......and if so can I put it back on a switch on the dash........how much trouble is that.........it would seem easy.... from what I ... know understand..............if this is just a matter of rewiring the two micro switches that might be easy to do.........what is your thought... after all I have seen in this cart I am thinking some one has really messed with this cart............I am a antique street rod guy and I find this all the time ... interested in your thought... mark
